About Us
Surrounded by forests and the hoof prints of elk, Mt. Hood Organic Farms is a wild place at the foot of Mt Hood where nature and culture entwine to create one-of-a-kind experiences. A century old farm transformed by Brady and John Jacobson over the last 42 years into a biologically diverse orchard of nearly 100 varieties of heirloom and specialty apples and pears, Mt. Hood Organic Farms was the first certified organic orchard in Oregon and is the largest Demeter certified Biodynamic farm in the country.
Gardens and orchards merge with the forest, river and mountain landscapes. Three Cascade volcanoes are visible from the property and all manner of wildlife abounds.
Our hospitality adventure began 21 years ago hosting award winning weddings and the farm has been featured in Martha Stewart Weddings, Vogue, House and Garden, Oregon Bride, Style Me Pretty, The Good Fruit Grower, on PBS and the BBC.
Gather at the reception tables in The Apple House at the heart of the farm for exceptional fresh, seasonal, local, organic farm-to-table dinners. Culinary excellence and family-style service by Cultivate Catering combine to create an unparalleled hospitality experience.
In the fall of 2014, in collaboration with Hiyu Wine Farm, Floréal, a traditional European-style cider was launched, followed by Nivôse and Germinal ciders. Blends of quince, perry pears, bittersweet, sharp and bittersharp apples and crabapples with no additives make for exceptional dry ciders.
A secluded, private estate, Mt. Hood Organic Farms is a mere twenty minutes from Hood River, but a thousand miles from the real world, making for a magical experience, whether you’re shopping for specialty fruit or hosting your wedding.
